I leant this to the Bellaire High School Makerspace. It’s a sound meter based on a similar project from Adafruit. The Arduino-compatible Flora board reads the signal from the microphone and lights the strip of NeoPixel LEDs based on the level of sound. The brightness is also based on the sound level. Yes the knob goes to 11. You can control the max brightness with the knob.
Version 5: Flora-controlled VU meter. I added a brightness knob. At the highest setting (11) the brightness is based on volume. On all others the brightness is the setting of the knob 0-10. 4th iteration of Adafruit-inspired VU Meter using an Arduino Flora, 16 RGB NeoPixels, and an Electret auto gain microphone. The brightness is dependent on the max volume.
Second iteration of VU meter using Arduino Flora, 15 NeoPixel smart LEDs, and an Electret microphone all from AdaFruit. The code is mostly theirs too honestly. Tomorrow perhaps I’ll solder that together on a perma-proto board. I still need to make the auto-gain work a bit better too.
The latest iteration of my LED Matrix clock with RTC. I want to add a knob (potentiometer) for speed control and button to toggle between date and time.
I finished soldering and coding my Adafruit temperature and light sensor data logging Arduino shield. You can see the data in Excel copied from the onboard SD card! Now I can use this at school to track temperature changes and correlate data to days (presence or lack of light).
2nd chronometer of the day. It’s the beginnings of an actual clock!! I might even take it to school.
